Short film research: Save yourself/ drama

  a.Common Sound in your genre   Dialoged     Music      b.Common Mis-En-Scene (CLAMPS) in your genre   Lighting    Costumes   Props     c.Common Editing in your genre   Cutaways    Montage    Crosscutting      d.Example films of your genre   Lunch date    Two cars one night    Save yourself    The crush    The phone call      e.What elements of the genre that you like?   I like the fact that they are able to develop such strong characters within the short amount    Of time in the film.    The themes displayed in these are often very interesting and often times relatable to myself   I also often find the sound design very interesting as in the short time they blend many tyes     Of audio into the film      f.What elements of the genre do not appeal to you?   What was a strength is also a weakness in this case, the shorter run times make it more difficult to fully emerse a viewer in the world as the run time is so short.

  a.Common Sound in your genre   The digetic sound, in this film is the wind rustling, as well as things moving in the house    which portrays the quietness.   There is also non- digetic music that begins as she is counting which shows that    the beginning of the film is starting    The score at the beginning of the film shows that the characters are in a bright mood,    As the film continues the music becomes dramatic as the character is in the film.    b.Common Mis-En-Scene (CLAMPS) in your genre   The camera angle is at medium eye level which emphasis the character,    who is focused on.     The lighting represents that they, are in an environment in which they are comfortable.    The prop in the period is the bike which represents her childhood.    Between the two boys family, and the striped pajamas represents a lesser human.    c.Common Editing in your genre   The editing of the film was realistic, they didn’t put much evidence into it to allow the    Audience to immerse
