editing blog: review day

 Since our friends reviewed our short filmed and gave us advice on their thought on the film. We decided as a group to edit our short film together. As a whole we discussed the process that we were going to have when setting up to review and tweak our short film;. with the advice of our friend we looked at each scene to see what we could possibly cut out as previously mentioned our film was over the time limit. so scene by scene we reviewed each scene tweaking along. we went around in a circle asking everyone if they think if a scene to be cut or not. this took some time but eventually, the film was to all of our likings. 

Next, we started out with the color of the film even though we thought that this didn't need changes we still felt like it was necessary. Just take precautions we looked over the color of the film deciding if it should be darker or light. And adjusting the gradient level and more. 

Then we moved on to music even though my teammates and I individually looked up music to use on youtube we felt like we should look over the music one more time as the final product. Overall we thought the music was good but we said if when we look at the film again and don't feel the same way we would tweak it and share it to the group chat for everyone's opinion.

 Today my group is editing our short film. When we initially edited our short film it was 2 minutes but after multiple production blogs, we have now reached 5:22 minutes. This exceeds the short film time, so for our editing today we will be cutting down on our scenes. we started out by trying to shorten our short film by scenes. when we evaluated the scenes we saw that some parts could indeed be cut out or shortened, so I went by each scene choosing whether to add that part or not to our final product. While my other teammates did other editing jobs. Because we had school and could not meet up we mainly edited online. Each team member had different jobs so the editing was faster than usual. Even though we did editing online as a backup, it still worked well for us. there were no major issues and I feel like this way of editing is better for everyone in our team as we don't have to go anywhere, all being introverts with parents that have different schedules.   The Old friend was inspired by past friendships and drama genre films, we are trying to portray a  toxic friendship between two teens that are trying to rekindle. Representing the struggles of toxic  friendships, and relationships that are harmful, damaging, and draining. They can be just as  harmful as toxic romantic relationships and may leave you feeling anxious, depressed, or just  generally unhappy. Toxic friendships often involve one person who is controlling, manipulative,  or emotionally abusive, and may involve a power dynamic where one person is dominant over  the other. In teenage years these friendships are most likely to happen to lead to regret for their  actions in the long run.  My film aims to address the harm that these relationships can do to both participants. On one  hand, one friend felt extremely sad, hurt, and left out of this friendship. While on the other hand,  the other friend felt guilty about treating their friend badly. Editing Blog: success is in the journey

 Because last time i finishes almost all of the editing there was less to do. Today i tried to sync the video more to the music. I wanted the kick of the bucket to sync with the beat drop at the start of the lyrics. Making the lyrics match up to the action of acting like a rich girl. After all of the adjustments and trying to pause different parts to fit it. It was not successful. After many tries, i realized that it did not affect the music video that much. However i do believe it would've been satisfying to see and hear the start of the lyrics matching. Though the music video does look good. I am proud of myself and Naturelle for filming the video on time and early sowe did not stress at the last minute. I was nervous about the scheduling at the beginning. But after talking we set out available dates even though both of us were busy half of the times. I am happy everything workout in the end. I hope others enjoy the video too.
